Michael McArdle & Son are based in Crossmaglen, South Armagh close to the border with Co. Louth and Co. Monaghan. Junction 17 of the Motorway at Dundalk is currently about 10 minutes away leaving both Dublin and Belfast approximately 1 hour away.
Established in the late 19th century (before there ever was a border!) we are the longest established firm of Estate Agents and Valuers in the area.
Down through those 100+ years Michael McArdle & Son have been active members of the community serving on Committees of the Markets Society, Community Association, Parish of Upper Creggan, Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick was an independent Councillor for the area and was Chairman of Newry N° 2 District Council. He was also elected to the original Founding Board of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in 1971. Professional Standards have always been part of Michael McArdle & Son with Patrick becoming a member of the Irish Auctioneers & Estate Agents Association on 14th July 1943. This later became the Irish Auctioneers & Valuers Institute (I.A.V.I.) which he became a Fellow of in 1976.
Now run by the founder's grandson Michael who joined his father in 1977 while completing a 3 year course in the College of Commerce in Rathmines, Dublin to attain full membership of the I.A.V.I. which he did in 1980.
In the 1980's and 1990's Michael was an active member of the Northern Ireland Regional Committee of the I.A.V.I. holding the posts of Treasurer, Secretary and Chairman at different times throughout that period. He was awarded Fellowship of the I.A.V.I. in 1998.
In April 2011 following the merger of I.A.V.I. and SCS Michael became a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) - the mark of Property Professionalism worldwide. He is also a member of other recognised and respected industry bodies relevant to the services we provide - NIRVA, CAAV, ALA.
Michael McArdle & Son continue to support the local community with Michael serving on the committee of Crossmaglen Community Enterprise Ltd., Parish of Upper Creggan Finance Committee along with being an active sponsor and supporter of Crossmaglen Rangers GAA Club.
